What to Expect at Medical Detox Centers
While detox does not treat addiction, it is an important first step in your treatment and recovery. In most cases, Fusion Recovery Center and other substance abuse treatment centers require detox before you can begin treatment. Substances requiring detox include alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, prescription drugs, stimulants, and synthetic drugs. It’s best to detox in an environment with medical staff, therapy, and supportive treatment. Once you complete a medical detox program, you can begin rehab and start your journey to recovery.
Without medical supervision, alcohol and drug detox can be very dangerous. The pain associated with detox is both physical and psychological and can lead to a quick relapse. Under the care of our fully licensed and trained clinicians, you will begin the detoxification process and be able to safely rid your body of substances. We monitor you and your symptoms and help prevent life-threatening withdrawal complications such as seizures, heart attacks, and death.
Our outpatient detox program will begin with a set of comprehensive evaluations, including a physical exam and screenings for alcohol addiction and substance use disorder, co-occurring disorders, and other underlying medical conditions. Medical detox typically lasts between three to 14 days. The length of detox is determined by several factors, such as the type of substance, the duration and frequency of use, the quantity of substance consumed over some time, and weight.
Successful recovery starts with detox.

Good Time To Reach
Medication-Assisted Detox
Some substances trigger more severe and even lethal withdrawal symptoms. It is very dangerous to withdraw from substances such as alcohol, opiates, and benzos. These symptoms include a rapid heart rate, seizures, hallucinations, a heart attack, and even death.
As a response, medication-assisted treatment will be introduced in the detox program to alleviate intense and painful withdrawal symptoms. These medications include Methadone, Naltrexone, Vivitrol, Suboxone, and Sublocade. If not treated medically, withdrawal from certain substances can be lethal. Our experienced staff will help you through the most challenging symptoms so you can start recovery.
If you’re ready, we’ll listen and help you explore treatment options without pressure.
